Review: Healthy Solution For Technical Workers! - I had wanted to order one of these desks since seeing a show (20/20 or something like it) where a doctor and his entire staff used treadmills while they worked and saw patients. I have a computer-based job at home and spent way too much time sitting in my chair. My days can sometimes go to 10 hours when busy and getting up to walk around regularly wasn't enough. I purchased this in September 2014 and am absolutely thrilled. This is an affordable option for me, since I have a treadmill and did not want to spend $1500 for some of the ones I see available. While I have not relly lost weight with it, I feel so much better. My blood pressure has gone down, though it was never high. I feel healthier. I walk rather slowly 1.5 to 2 mph), since I have to type and write, but it fits all my equipment and the sound does not seem to go through my headset to people on calls. I do find I am hungrier, but especially in cold weather it has allowed me to walk and keep moving. I have walked through my whole day which can be about 7 hours and find that does get to my feet. I wear running shoes for the cushioning and even with that, I feel somewhat sore in my feet. The days where I walk in 99 minute intervals (my treadmill shuts off after 99 minutes) 2 or 3 times seem to be the best option. I do take a lunch break and sometimes I just stand at my desk for periods of time. The walking does prevent back issues. I really thought my back might hurt spending work days walking on my treadmill and it is important to note that the act of walking prevents that. I really think this is a great solution for technical workers and look forward to getting my biometric screening done to check my levels and cholesterol and all that. My heart must be healthier. It was relatively easy to assemble and has been very sturdy. I am so glad I purchased this and recommend it highly.
Review: TrekDesk Treadmill Desk review 1st impressions - TrekDesk Review Hi hope you enjoy the review. Read the Summary below to skip all my babble if you want to: BABBLE I'm typing this review while walking on my treadmill and using the TrekDesk. I use a desk top with a flat screen monitor not a lap top. Assembly was pretty easy. Took me about an hour. I'm very meticulous and never rush anything. Probably could be assembled in 30 mins or less by faster people who have better skills than me. This was one of the easier pieces of furniture that I've assembled. Most desks take me about 4 hours. The only bad review I've read about this desk is a doctor who commented on it's stability. Yes things do shake a bit especially for me because I have mine up stairs and the floor vibrates somewhat while you are walking. It would be more stable on a concrete slab foundation. The stability however is not an issue. My flat screen sits on it with no problem. I have my desktop on a filing cabinet beside the TrekDesk. The flat screen moves some, but your head is bobbing up and down with much more movement than the screen and the desk. So to me it is no big deal. I like to go about 2 mph. This is a bit fast but I can type and write on the desk with no problem. If I want to run I just pop open Netflix and watch a movie. No problem there. Nothing will shake off of this desk. I can run 5 mph with no problem and even faster. Just be sure not to fall into the desk while running fast :) The center cut out gives you plenty of room to move your arms while running. I do suggest having good speakers to turn up the volume while running fast to overcome the noise of the tread mill. Finally I can exercise while having fun on the computer. Sure if you buy a $6000 solid oak treadmill desk the desk will be solid and super stable. The 1/16 inches that the desk moves is no problem because your head moves while walking probably 6 inches or so. I can rest my arms on the desk. I have a keyboard, mouse, lamp, phone and I haven't knocked anything off the desk. The desk is great for the price. My treadmill has a funky u-shape on the front arm supports. I was able to unscrew the x-bracing and fit them through the u-shape arm supports and reattach the bracing. Very versatile design. I scooted the desk all the way up toward the treadmill control knob. I can reach over the desk and turn the speed adjustment with no problem. I had to raise the desk up to highest setting because my treadmill is about a foot off the ground. My arms rest at the same level as they would on a regular desk. The two cup holders are nice. I use one as a paperclip and pencil holder. They have build in trays for the paper clips. I'm sure they were designed for this on purpose. Very nice design. The desk has tons of room and the center cut out is what makes it awesome giving you room to run on your tread mill. For the money I don't think I could have gotten a better one. Others I looked at were $1500 to $6000 dollars. I set my monitor off center a bit so I could access the tread mill controls. The best set up would be a monitor stand behind your tread mill so you can see and reach all the treadmill controls better. I may do that later, but its not that big of a hassle to the control knob. I have plenty of room to sort my mail, pay my bills, talk on the phone, while getting some exercise. I can do two things at once. Very nice. The holes in the back of the desk are great for running your computer wires through and getting them out of the way. I had no problem getting my wires out of the way. I have 8 to 10 wires running off the desk. A+ design on this thing. They put a lot of thought into it. It seems very adjustable for almost any treadmill. Also folds up for storage and transport so you can move it to other rooms if you need to. They thought of everything. This is a great desk for the poor man that can't afford the $6000 dollar ones. I would have like to have paid about 1/2 price for it, but I figured $500 might prolong my life and put off that $100,000 heart surgery. That's 0.05% of the cost of a heart surgery. It's priceless. I usually just stare at the wall and walk a mile to get it over with. I've walked 1.5 miles while typing this review. It only feels like I've been on the tread mill for 5 minutes. It's a great way to get additional exercise. Don't let any bad reviews scare you. This is a nice product made of hollow metal tubing, metal plates, and the desk top is a high density plastic just like what your tread mill is made of :) The high density plastic is very strong and it makes the desk lighter. I can move it by myself. My kid's swing set is metal tubes with dense plastic. This desk is similar in durability to a swing set. It is a lot more durable than the cheap $100 pressed-wood desk I had my computer setting on before I moved it to the TrekDesk. Summary (if you don't want to read all my babble) -------------------------------------------------- Assembly - easy about 1 hour for me but I am slow and meticulous 20-30 mins for person with more skills Durability - high-density polyethylene desk top - light wt. and very durable Portability - light wt. and durable also folds up for storage. Could fold it up and slide it under a bed. Folds to 2-3 inches high for storage. Stability - plenty stable enough. I can rest my hands on it I have a flat screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, lamp, and phone on it no problem plenty of room. It moves a bit but you are moving much more than it is moving. Remember you are walking on a tread mill. Overall - fantastic design. The designer put a lot of thought into this desk. Plenty of room. I can do anything on it that I could do on any other desk. Type, writing, talk on the phone, using the mouse are no problem on this desk. I rest my arms on the desk to steady my hands while writing and typing. Exercise - I can use the treadmill the same as I always did. If I want to type on the computer I slow down to 1-2 mph. If I want to run I pop open a movie on Netflix and run as fast as I want to. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it be used as a desk & also w/the desk attached as reg treadmill 3-4 mph & also pumping/using arms w/o putting desk out of way-2 uses/2 people?**
A: The desk is not attached. You just move it back a few feet and run...I do both. I walk on it at about 2.3 mph and then move the desk and run. I have a regular treadmill. It takes 10 seconds to move the desk back and out of the way....You can also use it as a standing desk without a treadmill but you would have to lower it a bit when it's not being used in conjunction with the treadmill.

**Q: Will this fit and keep stable three 23in monitors on stands, with mouse, keyboard, notepad ? Two of the monitors are horizontal and one is vertical.**
A: I have my laptop directly in front of me, a 22" monitor on the right, and the stacking trays with a desk calculator on top on the left. The desk is 72" from tip to tip at the back edge. The front is ~60" wide. It is difficult to walk while typing and looking off center. If I am using my separate monitor on the right, I turn off the treadmill and use it as a standing desk. I have considered mounting my 22" monitor on the wall so the laptop and monitor will be stacked in front of me to allow me to walk all the time. If your treadmill is a regular treadmill, and not made specifically for a treadmill desk, you will need a space that is 72" wide by 86" deep to allow for the upright on the treadmill and safety space behind the treadmill deck. I love my treadmill desk! I hope this helps.

**Q: I tried to order this. I am a PRIME member and get deliveries from Amazon several times a week. Says no international shipping - I live in Alaska USA**
A: Hi Deborah, it is frustrating we know and we apologize however the size of the TrekDesk (36x36x14 inches, 83 lbs) caused Amazon to stop shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. The best we can do for you is ship to a US border location freight forwarder if you can arrange transit from there. Our apologiesl.

**Q: Why wont this ship to an APO address? It is less than 75 pounds and isn't an electronic device.**
A: Hi Cami, Amazon handles our fulfillment and it is their rule not ours unfortunately. Please contact Amazon to see if they can suggest an alternative for you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Product but not as solidly built as expected. . .
*by B***R on May 6, 2011*

The concept is phenomenal! The Trek Desk is a good product but quite honestly - for molded plastic and a few peices of aluminum - it's pricier than it should be, but that's capitalism I guess. My Trek Desk is used at work and in conjunction with a Horizon T1200 Treadmill. My desk is elevated to number 6 on the adjustable holes on the legs. It fits very nicely with the treadmill operating panel. My computer monitor sits at the 1 o'clock position (top right corner) of the desk. The desk takes some getting used to to talk on the phone while walking and possibly writing notes. It also takes a bit of time to adjust to typing while walking at a slow pace. I am 6'3" and 290 pounds. I walk at a 1.5mph pace. I initially tried to walk the majority of the workday but found it very taxing (which is good). I have since arranged to walk for an hour then stand for about an hour or so alternating back and forth. I occasionally sit but haven't arranged my office yet to allow a second monitor to be setup on my original desk so all I have to do is move the keyboard and mouse to the lower desk to sit and work. I've had the product for 3 weeks now and am averaging about a pound a week in weight loss. With constant getting on and off the treadmill at work I believe I average around 4-5 miles a day. The treadmills times out after a few minutes when paused so I have a hard time trying to keep track of the total distance I walk. But since I arranged to walk for an hour it's gotten easier because it amounts to 1.5miles each hour. I also use the incline function at 1 or 2% incline. I really feel the workout in my waistline. The first week I went home exhausted and immediately slept for about 2 hours. Felt great after the nap too. Make sure you get a good pair of walking shoes and have plenty of water on hand. I expect future models of this product will be built more stable. If your treadmill slips or otherwise causes you to lose balance the desk is not suitable to grab ahold of to catch yourself if you are really falling. It will come crashing down with you. My advice is to take the first couple of weeks very slow and get used to your treadmill and getting on and off the treadmill consistently.
