Quite a bit different than plain acrylic lacquer which fairly soft. If you are careful, it will "lay down" with very little "orange peel" which you can wet sand to a glass like finish. I didn't want to have to get out the Binks and the compressor for a small piece and this product produced an excellent result. I've been spraying lacquer from all the way back to the nitrocellulos days in the 1960's.
