I dismissed the idea as technology for technology's sake. However I bought a cheap version on a whim at Christmas last year and my cynicism was totally justified! Mostly because the motor on the cheap unit would grind to a halt with the application of any pressure sufficient to actually erase anything. HOWEVER! Watching another YouTube video recently where the artist was using this unit and clearly finding it really useful, I made one of those fateful 2 a.m. purchases and promptly forgot about it until it arrived several days later. I'm amazed. Clearly the extra money has gone into build quality and motor power. I now use the fine tipped eraser like another pencil. Works beautifully on pencils both coloured and pain and I've just ordered a second one to be sure I always have one with me!!!! Review: I had to go through a LOT of youtube videos to find a good electric eraser, before I realized what kind of quality I could expect from Sumogrip. This thing is expensive to be sure. But it is easy to use, and it erases in a way that is far cleaner and less worrisome than rubbing with a normal eraser, or even a "gummy" one. I don't need to worry about accidentally creasing my paper with this! If I had to give any feedback, it would be that I wish the form of the machine was a little thinner, less bulky. But considering that it takes Two AAA batteries, that's probably asking too much. It’s a very small white eraser that vibrates fast. I could not erase acrylic colored pencil effectively, so acrylic paint would be no different. I believe this works best on standard pencil or maybe charcoal. **Q: great. but what wears out are little metal eraser holders. eraser is useless with them. why don't you sell them?** A: You have to be very careful changing the little white erasers, the metal holders are very flimsy and break easily, probably the biggest fault with this electric eraser. I try to ve very careful, don't know if yo can purchase them separately. **Q: Does it make a lot of noise ?** A: guess that would depend on the person, for me it does not make a lot of noise, very little, but it does the best job of any I have tried...well worth buying if you do a lot of art work (or make mistakes..lol) I use mine not only to erase errors but also for making drawings and other art look different for shading ....I really like it. My wife will borrow it to do other things around the house..like remove ink from walls...lol, I may have to purchase one for her...hope this helps. **Q: Does it work well with card making. BUT this eraser rocks it out of the park!!! I have arthritic hands and to activate and maintain the motor while erasing is so easy.
