It is thick enough to not run all over the place but then enough to spread easily. Very first application came out fairly thick with a liquid like substance at the base of it. So give it a good shake before applying. I removed that application and applied another which was easily spread on the CPU with a spreader without worry of run off. I like the paste. **Q: Does this paste need to "set in" before installing my water block? If so, how long?** A: I don’t think so. I just put mine on and started it up. I hear that the paste will “set” from the heat coming off the CPU.
