(e.g. "esp32 dev module" or "esp32 wrover module" etc.).** A: I got only dots as well on cam boards from a different vendor. Looks like the camera is not initializing. Upon inspection of the camera it was a DC2640, not OV2640. I don't know if that's the problem but I returned 'em any way and will look for a cam board with OV2640 camera. **Q: Are the camera and mother board bought separately, or are they sold together. I was able to backup the original firmware and flash it with the example camera server to have it connect to my WiFi. I had to select AI Thinker ESP32-CAM as an option. Only downside is that there is a noticeable sound coming out of it while its transmitting WiFi, so while streaming video its very noticeable.
