However as others have noted the lids are ONLY for keeping the heat in NOT to seal hot beverages from spilling out. Still I love them because I am only using them in my home not my car where spilling can occur. Now, my one pet peve is that the mugs have a metal bottom. On my stone counter tops or glass breakfast table you can hear that metal sound just by setting your mug down. Well thanks to a find on Amazon that flaw has been solved. I found ROUND SILICONE BOTTOMS in multiple sizes that stick to the bottom of water bottles and coffee mugs. A set of two in the correct size was about $5. Easy and cheap fix. That little touch should have come from the factory but sadly didn't.
