Who knows how long I set it for. I know I should have watched it the whole time but being impatient I didn't. I paid the price by losing the pad and having my microwave and house smelling offensively from the burnt product. The first one came the very next day and I liked the moist heat but the ties were not sufficiently long for my husband's or my waists. It tied but did not stay where we wanted it too. I only hoped the second one I ordered would work well. That one came the next day and fit well with long enough ties for it to stay put. It is comfortable and just a delight to own. I will let my husband share it because it really truly helps. Pain meds don't touch it but this soothes and does help.
