It dispersed the weight very well. I did keep one hand on the camera so it doesn't bounce from my hip when I was walking but I do recommend. I did have the camera come loose from the connection once as explained by other users but the secondary connection (safety tether) prevented the camera from falling. I just checked the mount screw on the camera mount more often with no other issues. The only issue for me was the articulating screen because my screw mount on the bottom of my camera was so close to the back edge the plate that fastened on the bottom interfered with it. If you screw mount is in the center on your camera I would not think it would be a problem at all. **Q: Is this compatible with the Nikon D5600? It’s not in the list but appears based on the description that it maybe.** A: This strap is compatible with most any camera with a 1/4-20 tripod socket on the bottom of the case. It attaches with a small plate (supplied) with a 1/4-20 captive screw. That said, the intent of this strap is to provide extra support for large cameras with large telephoto 0r zoom lenses. It's a large strap, often more that will easily fold into a camera bag that provides good close support to the camera. All that said, if you carry one camera for a substantial amount of time, it is far more comfortable. I would not have needed it in years past when I carried two Nikon F's (various vintages) with different medium single focus lenses, but the rig as pictured is pretty much what this strap makes easily carryable. I still leave the standard strap attached (it is not nearly as convenient to remove) from my current cameras, but do remove this one. The plate for the base is as bulky as a tripod plate and renders the camera a bit more awkward to set down places. I do recommend it. A very sturdy item, with safety straps in case of a failure, the camera tends to hang closer to your body, protecting it and people nearby(!). **Q: Will this strap work for a Nikon D5600 camera?** A: Yes, as long as you have a screw in base that you would otherwise use for your tripod. The metal quick release screws into the bottom of your camera and then you attach the strap to that.
