If you leave 8mm of inner insulation for a right angle SMA connector (blade positions B & E) you are out of luck. There is a section of the plastic molding that will not allow the blade to be position at position B low enough for the pin to be inserted through the hole in the blade. **Q: will this kit work on rg8x coax?** A: It should. **Q: will this crimp a sma connector onto a rg 174 cable?** A: Yes it will, but it will not be a perfect crimp. The .137 is a bit too big for the SMA so you need to use the .100 just don't make a full crimp. Use the quick release tab inside the handle at the back of the jaws to release the grip and you should be good.
