CAN be layered, I had a huge piece to mold and didn't have enough to cover the top so waited about a month to finish the process and it still came out perfectly. I mix mica pigment into part A to make custom colors as well, always cured perfectly. Very durable mold. Great for resin crafts. Only problem I have is that it may have too many bubbles for someone's liking. The mold is always perfect but can look a little bubbly.
