Mine broke **Q: What is the honeycomb pattern on the front in the pic? Is that actually on the glass?** A: There are two places on this tank with the black honeycomb pattern. The first is on the sides of the tank towards the back. This is to hide the filters, pump and others items you can stash in the back section of the tank. Fluval did this to alleviate sightly issues. In generics tanks, the filter, pump and heater are in full view in the tank. Many aquarists find this unsightly, and specifically buy fluval aquariums because of the added astetics the back hidden area provides. There is also a second area where you can find the honeycomb print, which is around the top of the tank. Again, this is for astectics and it hinds the water line around the tank. The honeycomb pattern is on the external side of the tank and is actually on the glass. Combined, both honeycomb patterns provide a seemless tank astectically and helps the eye focus on the contents of the tank (i.e., fish, plants, decor). **Q: Can the honeycomb pattern around the top of the tank be removed?** A: I was able to use regular Scotch tape on it to remove it. No residue, but it takes a bit of time for the pattern to adhere to the tape. So you gotta be patient. I also used a penny, which didn't cause scratches at all. Im sure a guitar pick would work better, and risk no scratches. I only took half off though, bc I like the pattern as a block for water lines. **Q: Can I put a sticker on the background and it show through the tank?** A: No , it has an integrated sump accross the entire back of the tank. You will need an in- tank background for this unit.
