Review: brilliant crimping kit - does almost all types of deutsch crimps i've come across, and is useful for many other types of crimps
Review: Crimpers ok, depinning tools too large - Was disappointed in this kit, the crimpers seem decent enough for the price, but the smaller depinning tools are useless, especially the red. I bought this kit on the basis of metal depinning tools, as the plastic Deutsch ones dont last and deform, but the red especially is significantly larger than the original plastic version. Tried to depin a HSD terminal, but it is just too large to sleeve the terminal correctly. Blue is a little larger but may work, the the yellow seems equivalent.

**Q: On the close barrel iwd-16 tool. the collar at the back of the tool is completely open in the center. is that normal? iwd-12 & iwd-20 are not.**
A: I checked mine and the same as you described. I’ve used on the 16 and worked very good.

**Q: Will this tool make good crimping? i'm using deutsch dt connectors, size 16 solid pins.**
A: IWD-16 crimper included is for Deutsch DT solid contacts, making 4 indent, 8 impression crimping results.

**Q: Does iwc-1424a work for deutsch size 20 stamped contacts?**
A: Yes, IWC-1424A is for 14-24AWG open barrel or stamped terminals.

**Q: Are the crimpers ratcheting?**
A: IWD Deutsch solid contact crimpers are ratchet while IWC weather pack crimper and open barrel crimpers are non-ratcheting.
