## Description

CL) SANDISK 1GB SD MEMORY

Review: Large storage capacity, quality brand, good price - I currently own this 1GB SanDisk SD card and a 512MB model, too, that I use primarily with my Treo 650 smartphone. I have no complaints about either of them, but don't take my word for it, check out the News and Reviews link on the product page for yourself. While each brand has its strengths and weaknesses, when you add everything up together and compare the results, SanDisk gives you the best bang for your buck. I usually keep an SD card in my phone at all times to store everything from MP3s, videos, eBooks, photos, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and even a couple Palm applications. This 1GB capacity not only allows you to store around 250-300 songs or photos, but even a small compressed video or two (if you want to rip parts of your favorite DVD or TV show). The additional capacity offered by these larger cards begs the question as to why you would want to pay $200 (or more) for a stand-alone flash-enabled MP3 player when you can get a phone-camera-Palm Pilot in one convergent device. Of course, this card is versatile enough to use for general flash storage tasks when coupled with an inexpensive USB reader (check out the Bonzai for less than 10 dollars), or to transfer files between desktops and laptops, digital cameras, whatever. SanDisk offers rebates every few months so even if you don't need a card right now, put this on your wishlist and check desertcart frequently to take advantage of the next saving opportunity.
Review: A Pawn to Build Kingdoms - And what a pawn this is. I was really skeptical of this product when I bought my first camera, not really aware of a good OR bad reputation. With electronics the argument about name brand vs. generic goes out the proverbial window with some things, and I was afraid of what might happen if this turned out to be a dud. I found out quickly that Sandisk isn't really given the proper amount of credit it deserves, and especially so since it really is a dependable piece of hardware. And I say that because of the experience my friends and I have had with this particular product. As far as the 1GB card goes, I have owned two of these myself - one for over two years by itself - and it has NEVER been a problem when it comes to my camera. Five of my friends and three of my family members also use these and they have all had glowing comments about this item. When you add in the capacity it has for the price, carrying almost 500 pictures at over 5 megapixels, its amazing. I remember film and how much film cost me when I was just snapping pictures. Now, two years after-the-fact, I think of how good the investment turned out to be. To add, since I did not see it on any prior reviews, if you are new to the electronic fiesta and you want to know how many pictures this will carry for your camera, you compare how many megapixels you use when you take pictures with the total amount of memory on the card as listed on a conversion chart. These can be easily found online, and the amount of memory contained in 1GB is amazing when you look at affordability. Even for the bigger fish in the electronic pond, this carries a lot of pictures and would be a great investment.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Deal... Theoretically...
*by J***J on August 22, 2005*

The product itself is great it is awesome having 1GB of portable memory. I use it for my V36 viewsonic PDA and I can store several MP3's along with storing my other data such as pictures, notes, and Word documents. I also use it with my small SD card reader and so it works great as thumb drive as well. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the SanDisk lost the UPC that I sent in with the rebate and so I didn't really save that much. Normally I keep copies of the rebates and this one I didn't...that's a lesson to be learned. So for such a high rated company that was a bunch of crap. Other than that, the product itself is great, just remember to keep a copy of your UPC if you send it in for rebates.
