Unpleasant, even after a thorough rinsing before the cook. I have to rinse, cook, rinse again and if having the next day, rinse AGAIN with boiling water (I don't think this is recommended practice with rice, so not advocating this). This is the only time I've not crunched down on pieces of grit. I bought 1KG short grain brown rice, based on price and ethos. Looking for organic but don't wish to pay that much at mo. Flavour, texture, quality seem on a par with organic short grain I've had many times from different brands. I don't mind a bit of realness with my food, eg, having to rinse mud of veg (shock, horror!) but I've never chowed down on such gritty rice in my life. I am going to buy it again and see if it's the same.
