Review: Great sous vide wand! Best boneless skinless chicken breasts EVER! - I’ve had this unit for almost a year. I bought it based on a recommendation from America’s Test Kitchen for a Best Buy sous vide wand. It’s worked GREAT! I’m cooking healthier meals at home. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts have been an easy source of protein. Sous vide allows me to cook them at a steady lower temperature so they stay tender, but still kill off any ickiness & parasites. No more rubber chicken! Also steaks cook to the perfect temperature. In this picture I’m cooking a barbecue pork butt for 20 hours. Once it gets to my set temp of 165 F, the counter for 20 hours & 15 minutes will start counting down. The controls are easy to understand and read. The wand itself is a great price. I love that it doesn’t need to connect to my phone via Bluetooth. It’s a simpler machine so fewer parts of the process can go awry. I owned a vacuum sealer before buying this wand. So I never used the manual vacuum & included vacuum bags. So I can’t speak to those. But the wand itself is wonderful! (I also HIGHLY suggest the America’s Test Kitchen cookbook “Sous Vide for Everyone.” Great tips & recipes!)

**Q: what is the maximum volume of water this can heat?**
A: Not sure on the absolute maximum. I use a stock pot. Mine is 12 or 16 quarts. Plenty large for whatever thing I’m cooking.

**Q: What are the minimum and maximum water depth for this sous vide. Will a container 7 1/2 inches deep accommodate it?**
A: This heater can accommodate many different depths, because you have the choice of sitting it on the bottom of container or hanging it from the side. The minimum/max measuring from the flat bottom is 2 3/4 to 6 1/4 inches. So if you set it on the bottom of 7 1/2 pot it might be a little dicey, but no problem just hang it from the side.

**Q: what does the 9" measurement refer to?**
A: Good question. Possibly the outer packaging, because the Sous Vide thing itself is 14.5" x 2.75" x ~ 4.5". That last is the depth from front to back -- the clamp thing makes it much deeper than wide.

**Q: What kind of container works best with this ?**
A: We use a pot, but anything that holds water and is sturdy, resistant to hot water works.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Sous Vide to use at home

I'm new to the whole Sous Vide arrangement, but I tried it out yesterday, and I think it worked well. I need to experiment with cooking this way, but it was a good starter. The device did everything it was supposed to do, and it was easy to use.
