Review: Easy to set up by myself - Used this on my 2023 Chevy Equinox. Didn't see any other reviews using this on an Equinox so I wanted to share that it does work on that vehicle. Lets just jump to the 2 'cons' that I noticed, since that is why you're reading this right? Pros will come later. 1st: The outside flap (not sure the actual name for it) only has zipper pulls on the OUTSIDE. This makes it very hard to zip it close at night for privacy and weather issues. Not impossible but definitely harder. I couldn't get it zipped all the way closed from inside my car. And it really isn't possible to zip it and get in from another door. This is an easy fix from the company if they put zippers with 2 pulls on, like they have for the mesh covering. I had no issues with zipping the mesh from inside because the zipper had 2 pulls, one on the outside and one on the inside. 2nd: I do not know for sure but I am wondering if it may leak a little if it rains. Thankfully I did not have any rain during the 3 nights I used it. But I did notice light coming in the seams where it was stitched together. There were little pin holes where the stitching was. Obviously it has to be sown together but I am sure there is a way to cover the seams and make them more water proof. Again, I am not saying it will leak as I did not experience any rain. But I am curious if rain will get in through the seams. PROS: This is a pretty simple and easy tent to set up. I set it up alone on my Equinox without any issues. For reference I am 5'5". Word of advice, don't open your hatch all the way at first. Get the tent over the top and up onto part of the roof. Then open it all the way. I tied the cords to my back seat doors instead of the mirror like I had seen in other photos. Once you have it all secure with the ties and the straps on the wheels, make sure you open the hatch the rest of the way. The first night I didn't have it all the way open, I thought it was, and it was a challenge to zip it all the way closed because the zipper was on the bottom of my car and I couldn't get to it. All in all it is a pretty good tent. I had a lot of people ask me where I got it. I will also say, not tent related, but I used a regular twin sized bed mattress (not an air mattress) and it fit pretty well. A little long but I made it work while driving.
Review: Very good tailgate tent - recommended - For what it is, this tailgate tents serves it's purpose. It attaches fairly easily, easily fitting over the open gate of my 2021 CX-5, and has of adjustable plenty of straps and ropes to secure it, including two stakes for the entry canopy. It also comes with 6 small rectangular magnets to place on the fabric in places where it gaps due to the shape of the car, to reduce incursion by unwanted insects. The idea is a good and effective one, but the magnets are too weak and too small, easily flying off as even a light breeze ripples the fabric. I happened to have some stringer ones which stayed on better as long as the breeze is not too strong. The zippers work well for the entry, and the large screen opening with the canopy extended provides plenty of air. I have yet to experience a rainstorm in that tent but am optimistic it would keep the rain out. Quality of construction appears excellent and durable with repeated use. My test-run was an overnight in a local camping ground, and then a longer test-run on a 4,500-mile road trip with 6 camping stops in the 6 SW US states. It held up well with the repeated setups and take-downs and made the car-camping experience tolerable. I don't really like sleeping in my SUV but it seemed the best solution for this particular trip since it was just for overnight stops, and this tent made it a better experience than to otherwise would have been. Photo shows it without the canopy extended - this was a particularly windy site with threat of rain.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not perfect, but pretty good

Overall, I really like this tailgate tent. I used it for an overnight stay at a state park campground so my arthritic self wouldn't have to sleep in a tent on the ground. I got the smaller size, and it fit my 2017 Buick Encore very well. It was also easy to get in and out of. PROS: It's lightweight and doesn't take up a ton of space. It also did a really good job of keeping bugs out all night, even the heavy bugginess one finds in late July and nasty humidity. The only couple of bugs that got in were those that came in when I unzipped the mesh flap to get in and out of the car. It also stayed firmly on my car in a major storm that came with three tornado warnings and 80+ mph winds. I was worried the magnets might not be strong enough, and they did move slightly, but they stayed on the car. Granted, once I saw the storm coming, I did think to position my SUV so that the back end was facing away from the direction the storm was coming from, so I don't know how it would hold up if it took the wind head-on. Still, it stayed put in a lot of wind and near horizontal rain. CONS: Maybe it was just from the sheer amount of rain (we got 3 inches in a few hours), but the tent did leak. On the other hand, the water that got inside the tent stayed out of my car, as it just ran down the inside of the tent fabric and then puddled just a bit at the very bottom where the tent meets the bumper. So I still stayed dry, which is the most important thing and is more than can be said for my friends who were sleeping in actual tents and woke up with wet sleeping bags. Also, the material doesn't seem all that sturdy, so we'll see about longevity. But I also haven't bought a tent in over 20 years, so I can't really compare the material to other modern tents to judge it for certain. Also, if you have to move your car while the tent is on, like I did when the storm was coming, make sure to unhook the straps from your rear wheels before you move it. All in all, I'm going to keep the tent, as I can't imagine it's going to be often I will end up in such a crazy storm while camping, so in a lighter rain, I'm sure it'll probably be fine. In dry conditions, it's close to perfect.
