Highly recommend to any Christian person or groups to desire a closer experience in God's Word. I personal believe it would be perfect for a class seeing it has very compressed information into short chapters that can be guided through quickly OR used for some amazing open discussion by using the study guide of questions in the back to drive the conversations with. BEST BEST book out there. you will not be disappointed. ### ⭐ Infuriatingly tedious *by F***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2020* This is NOT a complaint about overly detailed or complex analysis. "Luther on Galatians" is a favorite of mine, and he spends 54 pages on chapter one alone.The problem with “Let’s Study Hebrews” is that it reads like Jones consciously goes out of his way to miss the point, and the bigger picture, of each passage.HERE’S JUST ONE EXAMPLEHebrews 6:4-8 deals with believers who have fallen away.Jones's chapter starts with the question "From what can people fall away?" He proceeds to answer that with an analysis of the statement — which I’ve excerpted below.-------------------------------THE FORM OF THE STATEMENTThere are four things to note about this:1. It is made up of two related parts.2. It records something actual ( not theoretical).3. There is no conditional particle - if - in the original text.4. It is a negation (not an affirmation).SOMETHING IS BEING DENIED HERE, NOT AFFIRMED.It uses impersonal language.The writer uses the third person in these verses, whereas it is the second person plural, you, that is prominent in five. 11 - 14, and the first person plural in 6. 1 - 3.-------------------------------At this point, I threw-down the book for the last time — and have not regretted it. Which is so unfortunate, considering that I’d rank two of the "Let's Study" books (Mark Johnston on John and Sinclair Lewis on Mark) among the best works of Biblical analysis I’ve ever read.I’ve also read three other “Let’s Study” books, and they were all very good. In his analysis of Hebrews, Jones does an extraordinary disservice to the book series — and to anyone in search of an enlightened understanding of the original text. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very dilligent study on Hebrews *by D***J on Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2014* There is very valuable insight and explanation on a difficult book of the Bible.The author has done his homework.The author specially addresses the difficult warning passage in Hebrews 6 . 4-8, with dilligent care, considering other passages, both in Hebrews and other books, which are helpful to understand this difficult passage.He considers what should be the accurate translation of this passage in English, other passages of Hebrews 10:29, the "sinning with high hand" referenced in Numbers 15:30 in connection to relevant texts in Hebrews, helping the reader to have more elements to understand those warning passages.And he does it in a concrete and concise way.He addresses this passage and the whole book of Hebrews, much better than George H.
