They all work well.Every 240 power tool I've ever bought came with a horizontal straight blade plug. The 240/20/switch came with this type of plug; I plugged it into the wall, then plugged the dust collector into the 240/20/switch; great! I plugged the 120/20/tool into the wall socket, then plugged a tool into it; Bravo! instant dust collection just like you would expect! I was a happy camper.However, installation went downhill from there. When I opened the three 240/20/tool units I discovered that they were fitted with a different type of plug; one blade horizontal and one blade vertical. Although I was able to plug a 240 machine into the 240/20/tool unit, I was unable to plug the 240/20/tool unit into the wall plug. In order to use the three 240/20/tool units I had to have the three wall plugs changed. Those plugs are rather expensive and if you need an electrician to install them, it becomes a considerable cost.I definitely wasn't pleased about this. It seems strange that one unit had the plug I would expect, and the other three didn't. If I hadn't already installed the first two units before I discovered this I would most likely have sent everything back.I realize that there is a huge variety of different plug configurations and that the one on the 240/20/tool unit is opposite to the ones conventionally used for 120/20 amp plugs. I was somewhat shocked though, when on the shelf at Home Depot there were two identical plug socket configurations; one that fit the 240/20/tool switch and an identical looking one for 120/20 amps. The only way to tell the difference was to closely examine the tiny print on the yellow plastic casings. I don't have anything 120 that would plug into my 240 sockets (this would cause some serious damage) but I clearly marked the sockets in the shop for 240 only. I view this as a very serious flaw.Despite my grievances with iVacs choice of plugs, I am very happy with the way the system works.
