Me being the dummy that I am, I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that it is actually designed for BBQ use and to that end, It has become an invaluable tool when I use my Pit Barrel Cooker to place individual pieces of WHITE HOT Charcoal exactly where I want them. It also lets me place smoking wood chunks where they'll work best and even lift a full charcoal basket enough to shake off the outside layer of ashes and get that charcoal going again half way through a long cook. Due to the varying lever arm lengths (3 hinges) these tongs provide a bigger opening than the amount you move your hand and also amplified gripping force. Very cool and useful. Only downside, the gripping ends are just flat. I may grind a couple of teeth into the ends, but have not yet had the need to do so.
