Both reviews will be for the people who enjoy Venture Bros. already, but one will be for those who bought Season 3 on DVD and are looking to upgrade, while the other will be for those debating whether or not to buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray. If you have not seen season 1 or 2 of Venture Bros. I highly recommend watching those first if you want to ease yourself into the series right and proper.First Review - For the crowd that bought season 3 on DVD:There isn't much I can say here to convince you to upgrade to blu-ray except list the following pros about this set:1) Blu-ray means more storage, which means one disc of episodes as opposed to two, ultimately saving you an extra trip to the dvd player to swap out; this also makes for a seamless marathoning of the season if you should choose to take that challenge.2) Blu-ray means uncompressed high definition pictures, and while the special features aren't guaranteed to take advantage of this the actual episodes do. As with any animated feature, the high definition presented thanks to the uncompressed data delivers lush color and crisp audio.3) The Blu-ray version comes with a special soundtrack containing some of the most familiar music from the series, which is a nice little plus for fans looking to collect all there to be had from the franchise.4) Finally, it's Blu-ray so it's more durable than a DVD, adding a little comfort to letting others handle it, which is really more of a plus for people who are concerned that everyone they know and love will treat their discs without respect and care.So, to summarize for you, the fellow fan, upgrading to the Blu-ray version isn't a necessity if you already have the season on DVD and are content with the upscaling to your TV's definition; however, if you should find yourself wanting more from the season in regards to quality and bonus music discs, then it would be understandable to pick up a copy of the blu-ray version.Second Review - For The Crowd That Hasn't Bought Season 3:I know this is a tough call for you to make. Season 1 & 2 were in Standard Definition, no Blu-ray options at all, but that doesn't me you have to stick with tradition. If you buy season 3 on DVD it would certainly cost you less, but what if you decide you wanted to upgrade to High Definition? That's another $30+ on top of your already spent $10+. Granted both versions come with pretty much the same content, musical bonus disc not withstanding, with Blu-ray you can always watch in SD and HD, but with the DVD there's only SD and upscaling. Just food for thought. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Family that Slays Together ... *by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2010* ... stays together.First of all: beautiful packaging, retro as usual. This time the box resembles an old video game, which is reflected in the DVD's menu's and sound design. top notch.Venture Bros season 3 picks up where Showdown at Cremation Creek left us dangling: The Monarch has to justify his tête-à-tête with the Ventures in front of the Guild's very own Council of 13, Dr. Venture is assigned to a new arch enemy ... and we learn a lot about our favourite character's history. Great. From Rusty's daddy issues to Bill and Pete's unvoluntary O.S.I. past, Dr. Girlfriend and the Monarch's troubled relationship to ... well, see for yourself. Nice story arcs for nearly every main character + a lot of revealing moments throughout that season.Speaking of which: I read a lot of complaints about the fact that the season 3 box comes uncensored, meaning without any bleeped out cursing or blurred out nudity. Not sure why this is an issue: it's clearly stated on the black sticker on the front of the box. it reads: "WARNING! UNCENSORED! yadda yadda mature themes and vulgar and sexually explicit language etc etc". Anyway: how people are able to complain about these things is beyond me. Whether one of the characters *bleeps* or actually says the word ... it means the very same thing. Everything else is just hypocrisy. You don't show this kind of violent, dark and explicitly adult-themed show to your kids anyway, and if you do ... well, than the show's humour is the least of your problems. It's an adult show, deal with it or at least: act like one. Also, the nudity: there is like 2 scenes throughout the 13 eps that actually feature male nudity: one with Sgt. Hatred sitting on a toilet crying (well ... nothing much to say there, most people drop their pants there), and another one is a dream-like vision of Rusty and his dear old daddy Venture, resembling his inferior complex and everything. Here we get some talking genitalia in the shape of Dr. Henry Killinger ... weird, maybe ... but offensive? it's a psychological thing ... nothing more.alright, whatever: great season, beautiful animation, brilliant soundtrack (JG Thirwell again), amazing writing and tons of really really funny moments within a gripping story full of amazing chracters. the nearly 3 episodes finale is just ... out of this world.GO TEAM VENTURE!! ### ⭐ FAKE! *by D***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 15, 2021* Product I received was a decent quality counterfeit.
