The dish was so big that the sling wouldn't go round at the top and clip together so I had to put a spoon on it so it lay flat on the dish to make sure it didn't burn if it accidently touched the element - we used it on the highest heat setting. I think that if it was any bigger it would be too big though so the size is perfect. The nice thing is that you can touch it as soon as you open the pot - it would be pretty useless if you couldn't! We've cooked stuff since and it hasn't even occurred to hubby to use this so I've burnt myself!!!
