Not sure if mine fell off or just never came with the bike. Either way, it's the perfect fit for my SRAM Truative cranks. Without it, you can't really get the crank arms off. I bought the spanner tool too because it's really the only way to tighten the retaining nut. Be advised, the outside retaining cap bolt is reverse threaded. Lefty tighty here folks! The inside 8mm is going to be hard to break loose if you've never done it before, so bring a big wrench and some muscles. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great on TruVativ Descendant crank *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2021* I have a 2019 YT Capra with TruVativ Descendant cranks. I replaced the chainring with an oval but discovered that I had evidently lost the self-extract piece over the last 3,000 miles. This replacement was exactly what I needed to be able to remove my crank. The self-extract piece slides over the screw pice and allows you to screw off the drive side crank. Worked perfectly.I hate that I had to spend $15 but it worked great.
