Review: Gets hot fast, stays very consistent, very reliable. Read second half **UPDATE** - Great little rig, heats up fast, stays very consistent. It stays on for at least 8 hours a day, had it for over a month now and it works great. I didn't get the one with the digital temp display or sleep mode, I don't need those options, just needed a solid, consistent iron and i like this more than my weller. I came in one morning, turned it on and a few minutes later had a horrible smell in our assembly room. I started looking around and it was my soldering Iron. There was no smoke or fire or sparks, nothing dangerous but the handle had melted and bent so the heating element was melting the inside of the iron. I turned it off and it was shot. Done! I was really disappointed because I solder for hours and hours at a time every day, I have to totally pro soldering stations, one of them is a really expensive weller station and I like this one more. I got home, got on desertcart and sent a message to the manufacturer. The next morning, I had an email from them asking for my name and ship to address. A few days later a whole new station showed up with my UPS man. I was very pleased and surprised at that. I messaged them back, thanked them for the excellent customer service and the new one is still going strong. I am usually not real hot on chinese made stuff, especially these days with that crap they pulled with this virus mess... but that has nothing to do with the soldering iron people. I would buy this again from this seller / company in a heart beat.
Review: Perfect budget soldering station - Excellent for the price. I bought the 927-I-ST Novice solderers should beware though: the Temperature dial is pure marketing gimmick. It should simply read Low-High rather than 392-896. It has absolutely zero ability to regulate temperature. I find setting it to abot '600' and then waiting around 2 minutes gives me a reasonably stable 700 degrees perfect for PCB work. Better to let the torch head slowly, if you crank it up to use the 'heats in seconds' feature, you will likely have problems overshooting your temperature target and maintaining the heat for actual soldering It will shoot past your temperature target after more than a few minutes of running; so the real temperature control is the sponge. I don't consider any of this as negative though; for 30 bucks this is a fantastic bare bones soldering station. Was able to build a high end condenser microphone; do precision PCB work using this soldering station. If you take the time to practice and learn the way this station puts out and builds up heat and don't rely on the temperature setting, it will perform just fine.

A: I think it's useless anyway.  I bought a large lighted, clamp on magnifier.

A: There are 4 Different Styles of WEP Soldering Stations being sold in the same listing on Amazon - these 4 Model Numbers are 927-I, 927-II, 927-III & 927-IV and these Do Not Come with the 5 Extra Soldering Tips.  These 4 Model Numbers are also offered (on the same Amazon Listing) that Do Include the 5 Extra Soldering Tips for about $5.00 More and PLEASE NOTE that the Model Number will be following with an ST (Soldering Tips) if the unit includes the Extra Tips.

**Q: Is the side solder roll holder removable?**
A: Yes I there should be a bolt hole on the left side of the unit when viewing from the front. It came with two bolts but I needed to clear the plastic from the thread by lightly using a 9/64” drill bit by hand.

Works well, boxed well, cheapest version did not come with extra tips but not a problem. Most cheap Chinese soldering irons include tips so I have a set laying around. There is plenty of options around the same price, this is a good option if you’re looking for a soldering station with adjustability. Soldering iron cord is made of soft rubber/silicone, so it won’t get all twisted up when you’re trying to work. Also, most cheaper irons with heat control have the dial on the iron, Ive found myself having to turn the heat back up constantly since it gets moved by your hand during use (Eventually putting tape over it).
