Its bristles are hard without being basically metallic, and the hard rubber back is curved to act very well as a scraping tool too. Its bristles when bent return to form easily through a variety of methods (I like to kind of boil it) and it is just a great tool.

**Q: Are the bristles wire? If not I don't see the usefulness of this item.**
A: No, the bristles are not wire.  This brush is not intended to "de-rust" the cast iron as you would do with a wire brush.  This brush is intended to be used to "clean" (no soap of course) your pot/skillet after cooking.  I use it everyday - highly recommend it!

**Q: can i use it when the pan is still hot**
A: Depends on how hot. The bristles are nylon and will melt.

**Q: Where is the brush made?**
A: The information tag attached to the brush said Made In China.

**Q: May I ask what the bristles are made of?**
A: The description on the product information says nylon.  The bristles are stiff enough to clean the pan, but not so stiff that they don't bend.

I use this thing rough, I do not take care of it, and it hasn't even flinched. Its bristles are hard without being basically metallic, and the hard rubber back is curved to act very well as a scraping tool too. Its bristles when bent return to form easily through a variety of methods (I like to kind of boil it) and it is just a great tool.

Our first one lasted us so long and does such a great job on my cast iron skillets, as long as theyre properly seasoned. If I let a pan go too long in between seasonings I have to use a heavier duty scrub pad, but the lodge brush is perfect for every day use and im getting our second one now
