Surface temps need to reach 300+ F for the reaction to take place. Therefore a heatgun rated above 700F is best **Q: I used this over a design I transferred to wood using white graph paper and the pen didn’t work at all! Is this not possible? Should it only be black?** A: It may be the heat temp. I just got mine yesterday and it worked great, but I had to use an industrial heat gun. If you transferred it to the wood, the chemical is still there. Try and get a hotter gun **Q: Can you use this on stained wood?** A: Sometimes. If the stain is very light then yes. The marker must come in contact with wood fibers to work. As long as the liquid can penetrate into the wood then a reaction should happen. But if the stain blocks that from happening it won’t work. Hope that helps! Always test it first! **Q: Can this be used on faux leather or leatherette?** A: That’s a toxic setup - burning on pleather.
