It has straps to secure the bag when closed. It has multiple handles to make it easy to pick up. However, it does not have the ability to be worn as a backpack. It is a great bag. It is very durable. **Q: Is this bag actually water repellent?** A: Hello, yes it is water repellent to a certain point. I think they have fabrics that are more water repellent if that is important to you. They look a bit shiny on the online pictures but on real life are not so much. We have a black backpack in that material. They also have it in a military/camouflage look. Those I bet you could walk through heavy rain with no issue.
