A: Health benefits of any spice can be researched on line. I bought these to steep with tea to give it a little different flavor.

A: They do float in the water

**Q: Could they just be put in a bowl for fragrance ?**
A: Of course they can, and I'm sure you can already smell the aroma thru the bag. Should a  child so happen to chew on some all that will happen is, at first there might be a little heat sensation, then some numbing, and then they'll probably just spit it out, it might also be a big shock to the chld, so they may cry, but other than that, there shouldn't be any harmful effects, as long as they are not allergic to clove.
