One handle had to be held in place to keep flowing. The other handle could be flipped straight up, and it would flow automatically. desertcart sent a third one to determine which one was correct. We returned the one that had to be held in place. We LOVED the silicone washers that were thick and curved outward on both sides; a GREAT seal! It was easy to clean and I was glad that I checked this before installing it. It was easy to install. It did start leaking around the base of the spigot and the hole of the plastic container. I found that I screwed the spigot on too tight. I loosened the nut a bit and the leaking stopped. Thank you** A: I looked at many dispenser valves and most were the same size at the inlet, around 3/4 inch. The seals will cover a pretty wide opening even if valve does not seat well. This valve was 3Xs as costly as many but it is stainless steel and works really well. It's style is impressive and the wife wants another for a glass jar dispenser that has a low end plastic value now. I would be very surprised if it does not fit and work well for a standard ceramic crock. **Q: Where is it made, usa or china?** A: Do not know. Very high quality and elegant design.
