A new head on it, I think the other one was just dull and did'nt go into the bottle with ease, and removing was ridiculously hard. Now both ways work smooth and the flow is more like it was when it was new.

**Q: are directions included with the needle?**
A: I believe so but it is pretty intuitive. You screw the needle into the obvious place on the Coravin

**Q: What's the difference vs the standar one?**
A: The Premium Needle pours faster, I estimate maybe 1.5 times faster.  It makes a difference if you're pouring multiple glasses, or a carafe.

**Q: This product is "coravin wine preservation system premium wine replacement needles." how many needles? if it is one needle, why is the price $69 ?**
A: It is one needle and I agree the price is pretty high. However, this needle is premium quality. It is very thin and yet provides excellent flow. There are a bunch of unbelievably tiny holes in it that allow for good flow. I bought one and have been using it virtually daily for about two years. If you are drinking average wines and finishing the bottles within a month or so, the premium needle may not be for you. The standard needle will serve you well. Truth be told, I could have gotten along fine with the standard needle as I rarely drink premium wines and rarely keep a partial bottle longer than a month.

I ordered this to replace the bent needle in my model 6. This one too bent, after 3 months. My main objection is that $70 is an outrageous price for a component that will eventually fail. $20 would be more reasonable.
