I use high quality pellets that help with a better smokey flavor but this smoke generator takes it to a new level of smokiness. Not the bitter smoke flavor from a smoking tube but that of a clean smoke from unprocessed wood.It is a well build product. Easy to install and use (once you figure out how to properly start it up). Basic clean-up is quick. It needs a deeper cleaning after 3-4 long cooks. I love that most of it is made in the United States of America. Unfortunately some of the smaller parts like the bottom cap for example are made in China.After a little trial and error and online videos I learned when you want to pair this generator with a pellet smoker just run it for 30 - 45 minutes before you start to get clean smoke. I just started the smoke generator first then pre-heating my smoker.One more tip. Instructions say you should check the wood chips / chunks every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. But at the beginning of a smoke check it after an hour. Sometimes it burns through a lot of wood at the very beginning as it settles in. For me after the second wood refill it was going 3+ hours before needing for wood. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Traeger Game Changer *by P***. on April 7, 2025* Would give this product 10 stars if I could. I’ve smoked meats for years with a “real” custom built refrigerator smoker built in Texas. My wife bought me a Traeger as a gift. I used it twice and was so thoroughly disgusted with the lack of smoke volume and flavor, I put it away in my garage and haven’t used it for 3 years - until today. I happened to stumble across the Smoke Daddy on Amazon. Did my research and it seemed to make sense and may give my Traeger a shot at actually being more than just a convenience grill. I installed it today and smoked a couple of whole chickens. The chickens came out perfectly. With the Smoke Daddy, I had continuous smoke - real smoke and flavor, not that pellet smoke where you think the meat may be smoked but you’re not sure. The Smoke Daddy is a total game changer. With it I get the convenience of thermostatically controlled temp and GREAT smoke flavor. I highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product but less straightforward than I hoped *by C***E on February 20, 2025* Easy to install, well built, and great smoke volume. I would upgrade to the max PIG model if I could do it over again. The chips I tried burn really fast. I'm getting about 30 minutes just as is with the air pump set to a medium. I'll have to play with my setup a little. This is definitely an upgrade, I'll do a video when I use it again.I know I'm being a little bit of a perfectionist here. I'm using an Ironwood 885 and I put it in opposite of the fan (which it does say to avoid). But I'm planning on installing a section of brass pipe so it exhausts next to the pot. I might be dealing with some air siphoning through the drip chute, causing excessive burn.
