Unless I'm mistaken... you are looking for coverage when you buy mulch, not weight. Unless you need heavy mulch for your project....? Lowes is a 20lb bag for $7...at .8 cu ft. This bag is 40lb at 1.55 cu ft. You would expect about ~$14 for this... so idk why it'sso expensive. I'm going to lowes. Do what you will with that info :) **Q: Does the smell go away?** A: Isn't it ground tire rubber? Rubber smells when it's hot. How is this environmentally friendly? Why is it more friendly than simply throwing the tires in a dump? Real wood is environment friendly. **Q: Is this shredded or like little nuggets?** A: Its more of the nugget style mulch. **Q: Does this come in bags? If so how many?** A: I bought the 1.33 cu ft for 49.99, i bought 3 bags as that was all i needed for my flower beds. I prefer it to the shredded rubber mulch.
