M. Cromer has done it again! I'm not terribly enthusiastic about love stories in general, but when you have characters that you find yourself talking to (For cripes sake, Liz, give the guy a break!) and you feel as though those characters are friends, a continuing storyline that actually makes sense...well, it IS fantasy...However...I've been sort of wrapped up in Alastair, the Thorne patriarch, and suddenly Tara has thrown a monkey wrench into my hero worship. Along came Damien. And his "beastie", Sabrina. I feel as though I'm cheating on Alastair. Seriously, this series is absolutely wonderful. Every time the release date is in sight for the next book, I read the whole series all over again. And love every book just as much as I did the first time. Each character has his or her own voice and I think I could tell who was involved in a conversation or situation even if no names were given. The depth of thought put into the characters and their interactions with one another as well as other better-known characters in this series is comparative to none. She continually makes characters that give you the impression of your best friend or a potential lover. Then she introduces a new one! I can't wait to learn more about Damien and see where his story with his little Beastie goes. This was a storyline I really enjoyed. The Thorne's are drained of their magic and they don't know who is doing it or why. With the rest of the Thorne clan and an old friend of Alisters will they get to the bottom of it before it is to late. The storyline and the characters where absolutely perfect....
