Review: So far so good - This item replaced a Stanley retractable hose reel that broke after years of daily use. This one seems more substantially built, so I am optimistic that it will have a long life like the Stanley (which does not seem to be available any longer). I mounted this one on a brick wall and did not use the included hardware. Instead, I used 3” long 1/4” Tapcon masonry anchors and pre drilled 5/16” holes using a hammer drill. Very secure and avoided drilling even bigger holes for the questionable plastic anchor inserts that came with the unit. Plus, the 6.9” vertical spacing of the mounting holes would not have allowed me to stay entirely on the surface of the brick with the included inserts—I would have gotten into mortar joints top or bottom. The Tapcon solution put smaller holes entirely into brick. I will update over time, but everything works perfectly thus far. My wife loves it even though it takes more force to pull out the hose than our old reel. I fixed it a few times, but eventually became unrepairable.
