My band recorded our album on it, using all it's mic-pre's, and sending multitrack output via it's optical output (I have an expansion card to send a full 16 channels out from it). I haven't yet used its firewire output (waiting on a thunderbolt adapter to arrive), but it works perfectly as a control surface for logic pro X.
