    While this mat does include a carrying strap, it is definitely NOT non-slip

I was drawn to the look and description of this mat, as well as the Stott name. It lists in the description: "Includes carrying strap and Features a non-slip surface". While it does include the carrying strap (which I'd like to get more of for my replacement yoga mat) this mat is definitely NOT non-slip. I practice non-hot/sweat yoga, and I find it utterly frustrating in downward dog or warrior poses when my feet are slipping all over on this mat. It looks nice, and I like that the wording helps me in lining up my foot placement for multiple poses, but this mat is too dangerous to use for any standing yoga poses. I will be relegating this to floor bound exercises such as pilates, or using the foam roller where I'm not concerned about slipping.

    Cool Design but Flaky Material

The design is cool. The mat is thick but sinks in if I'm on my knees so will need to fold it for more cushion. I'm a little disappointed with the quality though. This is the second one I bought as the first one was ruined when my friend put it on the concrete floor and slept on it. The mat stuck to the ground and parts of the surface ripped off when we were peeling the mat from the ground. I used it less than 10 times up to this point. I thought that the damage was user error (which it still probably was) so I bought another one. When I started using the second one, the surface of the mat was flaking and breaking apart during yoga class. Because of my two experiences, I think I'm going to try a different brand.

Bought it for my girlfriend because she started yoga classes. She really likes it, although she is my girlfriend and it was a gift so maybe not. The yoga mat came with the strap handle and altogether this mat is a really good quality unit. I would recommend this mat to anyone looking for a nice yoga mat.
