Review: YES!!! Blocks snoring!! Finally!! Better than Mack's! - I've tried almost every earplug available on here, disposable and reusable, silicone, foam etc for blocking out my husbands snoring. I've been using Mack's for the past 6 months, they're ok against light sounds, even when inserting them correctly and I was not reusing them (foam doesn't go back to full strength after use) and when the snoring was super bad I would use them + my AirPod maxes with white noise. If I fell asleep before him the Mack's were ok but if he was close to me I could still hear him breathing smfh. So another sleepless night I was pissed and found these to try. They're AMAZING. I was skeptical because they're only 1 NRR above Mack's but that plus the increased width and better foam density makes these A MUST BUY. Even if he is medium snoring I can't hear it so I can fall asleep first before the snoring is god awful. Also, I have to have my phone alarm all the way up to hear it and even then it's still hard to hear. Definitely will buy these forever, please don't change them!
Review: Snoring Blockers -- Not Silver Bullets, but these Hearos are Our Heroes! - One of us has a snoring problem. One of us has a sleeping problem. Not a good mix! Without pointing any fingers -- these Hearos are our heroes! One of us has tried a lot of earplugs (the other has tried and is trying a number of snoring reduction methods). We had come to the conclusion that earplugs just don't work against snoring. It seems to happen at a level that just can't be blocked. After trying many foam plugs, and then the expensive ribbed ear-canal plugs that can run $30 a set, we were ready to give up. We have even spent some time in separate bedrooms, but that seems like a relationship tragedy. However, reading the numerous review on Hearos, many customers had said they provided respite even from ardent snoring. Huzzah! Worth a shot. We were skeptical, because these plugs are -- well, cheap. To cut to the chase: these are the best anti-snoring sound-blocks one of us has ever tried. Probably it is because of the quality of the foam. If you squeeze them between thumb and forefinger before inserting in your ear canal, you can get them well inside. The back of the plug should rest against, and be held in place, by the nearby "wall" of your ear. If there is sound in the room when you insert the plugs, as they expand to a custom-fit of your hearing canals, you will experience the silence grow. That said, they are not a silver bullet. If the other person is facing you, loudly sawing, the vibrations will penetrate. At that point, we advise against beating them about the neck and face. An agreement ahead of time that you may wake them with gentle nudges, and at that point, they will roll away, and certainly off their back (often the worst position for excessive snoring), onto their far side away from you -- that will go a long way. Often just the change of position will quiet the breathing. There are also devices. The watch-like thing that gives the snorer a little electric tingle when it picks up the vibrations, is worth a long-term try. So are many supplements (pills). One of the best is stinging nettle root, and slippery elm, if part of the breathing issue is allergies. The chin strap and nose plugs are not great options, in one of our opinions. By the way, some reviewers have said they use the plugs for a couple of days and then throw them away. Yes, they are cheap, but so is one of us. We prefer to take the gently used plugs and wash them in warm water and mild soap (a drop or two of dish detergent). Let them stand on a towel to dry. You can then use them again for a few days. All in all, as snoring blocks, these work well. We've also both used them when target shooting, and while cutting boards with a screaming skill saw. Recommended!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will these earplugs block out crickets that sound like they are in my house? I have lost so muh sleep over them!**
A: The frequencies that can penetrate barriers are low frequencies like trucks, stomping, bass drum. Crickets are rather mid-high-frequency and will probably be blocked out very effectively.

**Q: Does anyone know the decibel level they reduce?**
A: The decibel level they reduce is either 30 or 32. It says so on the package. But if you do not put them in your ears properly, then they will not work. You need to roll them evenly to a small tight cylinder shape, and hold your ear canal open by tugging on your ear lobe, then insert it into your ear canal, and let it expand and seal your ear canal. Take it out SLOWLY in the morning!

**Q: Will I wake up to alarm clock?**
A: I wake up to alarm clock without issues.

**Q: Do these ear plugs fit any ear? Are they comfortable? Do they fall out?**
A: I used them, and I inserted them correctly (rolled them up into a tight cylinder then put them in my ear). In the morning, my ears hurt, even for a little while after I took the ear plugs out. I think I must have small ear canals -- when I buy headphones that have different-sized ear pieces, I always have to use the smallest ones. Anyway, I would say they are not comfortable for smaller ears.
