I use it multiple times a night for my dogs so it's always going on and off! Love it ### ⭐ One Star *by A***R on August 20, 2015* Cheap. I have already replaced it as it stopped working ### ⭐⭐ Inexpensive but not very reliable *by D***Y on April 18, 2013* I initially purchased four of these floodlights a few years ago. They had mixed reviews on Amazon, but the price was substantially lower than similar floodlights so I bought them. They seemed to work well at first, lots of light was provided from the 500 watt bulb and the metal housing/glass front are no frills but functional. I paired up the lights at corners of my house so they could face different directions and light up specific spots in my yard such as walkways or parts of the lawn. The floodlights are used primarily for short periods of time anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or two when I'm taking the dog out or perhaps working in the yard. The bulbs that came with the fixtures lasted one month, six months and at the longest around a year. I thought they might be cheaper quality bulbs because they burned out so quickly, so I replaced them with heavy duty bulbs that I bought at Home Depot and Lowes (Sylvania and GE brands) and those bulbs lasted two+ years and one is still going strong. I thought after the first year of using them that they were decent quality fixtures for the price.Last year I had built a large metal outbuilding that required six areas around the perimeter of the building that needed lighting. I needed a lot of light, so I once again put up pairs of the floodlights at each spot along the perimeter for a total of twelve fixtures. The fixtures are spaced apart so the heat doesn't build up and the coverage from the lights is spread out a bit more. The twelve newer fixtures are burning up halogen bulbs at an annoyingly fast rate! A few of the original bulbs are still working after a year, but I've replaced nine of the original bulbs and then had to replace another four of those bulbs a second time. One of the bulbs literally melted the sockets and ruined the fixture. It has been removed.I'm not sure if there's something different with the quality of the newer fixtures, the bulbs, or both. Whatever the case, having to replace bulbs every month or two is annoying, expensive, and not something that should be necessary. I thought I was saving myself a lot of money by buying these less expensive fixtures, but in the long run it's actually going to cost me more in time and money if the bulbs continue to burn out at this rate.I am going to gradually replace the fixtures with LED floodlights that are much more energy efficient and will not require bulb changes for 50-100K hours or longer. It'll cost me a heck of a lot more initially, but the savings in power and time will be worth it in the long run.
