108 Discourses of Guru Dev: Life & Teachings of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath (1941-1953) Vol. I

This book has a power to it, with a sheer simplicity paired with a profound knowledge that is extremely rare. If you are deeply motivated by transformation of karmas and acheiving Moksha (liberation), you owe it to yourself to read this, slowly, highlighting much to re-read (like almost all of it). What a jewel, I will be re-reading it often, and it is about half Sanskrit, so it's an easier read than would seem, as half the book is in this beautiful but ancient script. This is up there with the classics of India.

Anyone who is interested in the teachings of Brahmananda Saraswati should have this book. Every passage lands in the consciousness like holy scripture. Paul mason has done a wonderful job in translating these gems from the Master.

The author did a terrific job of capturing nuggets of wisdom from this great saint - guru. These are something akin to sermonettes about spirituality and human conduct. While steeped in Vedic wisdom, the guru gives practical insights into life to one seeking liberation from the karmic wheel. As a devotee of his disciple, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, I am intrigued to know more about this incredible teacher of the guru who has provided us with the wisdom of enlightenment via the transcendental meditation technique.

Essential reading for all interested in the life and teachings of the great realizer Swami Brahmananda Saraswati. Excelente and much needed book.

Großartiges Buch, leider teils in etwas schwer verständlichem Englisch geschrieben. Ich lese sehr viel in Englisch und habe normalerweise keine Probleme. Aber hier muss man ab und an ein paar Passagen mehrmals lesen, was der Verinnerlichung des Inhalts jedoch nicht schadet. Ja Guru Dev! Gehört in jede gute spirituelle Büchersammlung.
