The SATA power connector connects to the computer's SATA power supply cable. **Q: Will this convert an ide enclosure to a sata enclosure ?** A: I've only used it on old IDE drives in modern SATA desktops. According to the product decsription, it should work in the other direction. The SATA connectors of the converter board are male. So you would need female-to-female SATA connectors or cables between the converter and the SATA drive.
