The plastic is sturdy and the bright colors and bold print make the dial very easy to read. These are a perfect take home gift for use in a scout meeting or youth class.However these are not made for serious orienteering or rugged conditions. The compasses use a water base for the compass fluid making them unusable in freezing temperatures. The needles are weakly magnetized translating into sluggish movement and slightly inaccurate orientation.If you buy these for casual use, you won’t be disappointed. If you buy these to go backpacking through the Alps, you may have some issues. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ They all worked for very low price *by P***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 10, 2019* So they aren't SUPER fast responsive, but then again, they are a dirt-cheap cost compass.
