Setting up a shop in the small French town of Romans, Robert Clergerie launched his eponymous label in 1981 with his famous oxford, the shoe equivalent of the little black dress. Shoe is a soft leather with no support or structure.  Lined with Sherpa or similar insulator.  My slippers offer more support than this shoe.  Truly horrible.  I'm not sure what is happening lately with the Clergerie brand - used to be dependable for a subtle stylish shoe.  This one begs a return - don't waste your time.  I have several pairs of Clergerie shoes from years past (green box) and these are not worthy of the brand.
