**Q: Ive been trying to dye my backpack but it isn't working and ive tried everything. Can someone help me please?**
A: Rit makes more than one type of dye maybe try using a different type depending on what the backpack is made out of. I would try polyester dye

**Q: What are the ingredients? I don't want to work with toxic substabces.**
A: If you mean will it hurt you in any way, I’ve been using it for years with no ill effects.  Consumer groups have labeled it non toxic.

**Q: Can you use a tub to color a shirt? I don’t have my own washer and other tenants probably wouldn’t appreciate me using the apartment building laundry.**
A: I would recommend using a large bucket or pail for dyeing instead of your tub.  That's what I did when I was a renter. You could ruin your tub by using it as the dye vessel for your project. You can put the bucket into the tub, of course, especially if you are using hot water from the tub tap. Good luck!

For some reason I woke up one day and decided that all my brown Carhartt jackets need to be OD green. Who knows why. I used a storage tub with some hot water, a half cup of salt, and a dab of Dawn and it came out perfect after soaking for an hour. I used an old broom handle to stir it a few times and hosed it off in the yard before washing. The color is exactly what I wanted.

is a dark green, shade is different with different fabrics, lighter for cotton, darker for synthetics. I had bleach spots on my blouse. I removed the color with RIT color remover and redyed it dark green. It took a long time but the stains were finally covered though it was a different shade. I couldn't find any closer
