As compared to the Otterbox, it doesn't have a screen protector so you will need that. It has a hard shell with a rubber shell around it. It also has a stand built into the hard part. It is very easy to take on or off. I'm not sure how much protection it would provide in a fall, but it's pretty much like all of the other slimline type cases.
