Being in three pieces helps that but there are more bolts to tighten. The additional bolts are in plain view after installation, so it is easy to keep an eye on them over time. The hitch is so easy to install that it may be a good idea to take it completely off when it is not going to be used for an extended period of time. Unlike other hitches for this car, this one does not let you keep the factory tow eyes (for securing to a flatbed). If we ever do need to be towed, then the the operator can probably loop around the hitch's cross frame. Hopefully that won't ever be necessary. This hitch is very visible. The receiver sticks out beyond the bumper at least four inches. The corners of the frame where the hitch's different pieces get bolted together are in plain sight.
