DR's new, remarkable, proprietary and patent pending K3 Technology Coating is the first coating that makes no apologies and no excuses for not delivering sound equal to uncoated strings. Players tell us that these strings have more volume, less unwanted overtones, greater clarity and articulation then standard, uncoated strings. Yet, they provide the same protection due to corrosion and perspiration as well as increased tone life that coated strings are known for." ## Features - PATENTED K3 COATING: DR's proprietary ultra-hard black K3 coating delivers more volume, fewer unwanted overtones, and greater clarity and articulation than standard uncoated bass strings. - EXTENDED STRING LIFE WITHOUT SACRIFICING TONE: The thin jet-black K3 coating seals every string against perspiration and corrosion, preserving your tone and feel far longer so you spend more time playing and less time restringing. - ROUND CORE STAINLESS STEEL CONSTRUCTION FOR BRIGHT, FLEXIBLE TONE: A round core wire with stainless steel roundwound wrap delivers enhanced flexibility, smooth feel, tight lows, balanced mids, and bright articulate tone that cuts through any mix. - FITS 4, 5, AND 6-STRING BASSES IN MULTIPLE GAUGES: Available in light, medium, and heavy gauges for super long scale basses up to 37 3/4 inches, Black Beauties are engineered to fit most 34-inch and select 35-inch scale instruments. - HANDWOUND IN THE USA WITH PREMIUM AMERICAN MATERIALS: Designed and crafted by hand in New Jersey for over 30 years, Black Beauties pair time-tested craftsmanship with a bold jet-black look built to perform on any stage. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0089N46KU | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,444 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #7 in Bass Guitar Strings | | Body Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Brand Name | DR Strings | | Coating Description | coated | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (5,742) | | Finish Type | Coated | | Instrument | Bass Guitar | | Item Weight | 159 g | | Manufacturer | DR Strings | | Manufacturer Part Number | BKB5-130 | | Model Name | BLACK BEAUTIES | | Model Number | BKB5-130 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Recommended Uses For Product | playing bass guitar in musical contexts | | Set Name | 45-130 | | Sound Profile | Clear, articulate, balanced with reduced overtones | | String Gauge | Light | | String Material Type | Alloy Steel | | UPC | 600781003711 | | Warranty Description | 2-year warranty. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** DR Strings - **Color:** Black - **Instrument:** Bass Guitar - **String Gauge:** Light - **String Material Type:** Alloy Steel ## Images ![DR Strings BLACK BEAUTIES™ - Black Colored Bass Strings: Medium-Heavy 45-150 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/815gEzZY2JL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Set** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - DR Black Beauties Bass 5 Strings 45-130 - Ernie Ball Polypro Guitar Strap, Black (P04037) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/16301386-dr-strings-black-beauties-black-colored-bass-strings-medium-heavy](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/16301386-dr-strings-black-beauties-black-colored-bass-strings-medium-heavy) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
