It does help soothe a dry, itchy scalp; and it's particularly helpful when hair is freshly done. I found that it helped relieve the sense of tightness experienced within the first couple days of new twist or box braids. However, I must say the true benefits of this product cannot be experienced until twist/braids are taken down or out. My natural hair was extremely moisturized and soft when I took my twist out. I experienced very little tangling or shedding. The true goal of protective styles is to take care of your natural hair and this product aides in that goal. I went through two bottles in approx. 6-7 weeks (shared the last bottle with my daughter) and I will place another order asap. I also placed a few drops of peppermint oil in my bottle to give my hair an extra boost of freshness. I workout regularly and find the peppermint to be a great agent to maintain hair in between cleansing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Braid Moisturizer! *by T***I on February 5, 2018* I’m not one to write reviews, but had to with this one. This is simply a great product.I’m not sure why they call it a sheen since the beauty of this product is in its moisturizing properties. It’s nearly all I use while I have my braids installed. My scalp is not itchy, my hair has a soft sheen, and best of all, my hair stays moisturized. I use this products around 1-2 times a day.I will say, this product looks very watery upon first impression. Don’t let that deter you. Remember, Moisture = Water. You also really don’t see the beauty of this product until after you take your hair down. I didn’t appreciate it until my take down and saw how moisturized my hair was with no breakage. I’ve been using it ever since.My braids are never dry and don’t feel like it has tons of build up either. If you are on the fence about this, please give it a try! I can’t say enough good about this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing *by K***A on November 27, 2017* I. love. this. stuff.Ok so I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and I tend to sweat a ton mostly on my head, like my forehead, scalp etc. and having protective styles in + sweat is not a good mix. I’ve tried so many other “braid sprays” and they don’t do anything except wet my hair. this stuff smells so damn good and it completely gets rid of ANY odor no matter how strong. it makes my hair super soft.
