This fits properly and works well, but I had to first take off the black rubber wrapping, otherwise it wouldn't fit. There are other people here that have posted pictures of it fitting without doing anything, but for some reason it didn't work for me, hence the reason to remove the rubber. It's very easy though, it comes right off, you just need a knife or scissors to make the initial incision. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Adapter, BIG WARNING/SOLUTION for Sennheiser Modders inside this review. *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2017* This adapter works as advertised, and is currently the cheapest compared to all other 'flashier' looking options on Amazon, and does NOT have issues with functioning and contact which is much more than can be said for some of the other offerings. So... a simple 5/5 stars.BIG WARNING FOR THOSE MODDING SENNHEISER HEADPHONES WITH THIS..If you're looking to mod your Sennheisers (558, 598, 598 cs) to work with a V-MODA Boom Pro Mic or any other 3.5mm input plug... this is THE adapter you need, but DO NOT listen to ALL of the instructions you will find online on YouTube or in a lot of these other Amazon reviews for that matter.Now I am sure you're all aware that you have to remove the locking mechanism, and have done so. While you do that, PLEASE DO NOT follow what majority of the instructions tell you to do and remove the Silver Plastic around the plug hole for the headphones to make the adapter fit inside.Removing the Silver Plastic basically makes any kind of plug that goes inside the headset to be loose and not supported very well after the locking mechanism is removed. The only thing to really support any plugs that go in beyond the little chip and the tiny input jack soldered on to the chip, is well.... nothing, except at least a millimeter gap between the now much bigger hole and the plug shaking loose.... It's not a comforting thought.At least with the silver plastic for the headset left in, there's much more immediate point/surface of contact for the cable's plug to soften the blow should it be given any violent/accidental tug. Without the silver plastic left in, the cable being violently tugged could rock sideways enough as there's a big loose gap between the now far bigger hole and the plug that you're potentially dealing with a big problem.THE SOLUTIONWhy do any more damage to your $100+ headphones (you're already required to remove the internal locking mechanism), when you can mod and tear apart a far cheaper component instead? The less-than-5-dollars costing adapter you just bought.The adapter has a rubber/silicon casing, the black casing thing around is. The actual adapter underneath the black casing is just like any other adapter, in that it's a metal tube like the other adapters you see on the market. This means you're more than safe to take any kind of sharp knife, scissors and simply cut/peel the casing of the plug with relative ease without worrying about damaging the inside. Simply slice a line down the casing, and you will find it simply peels off. Just don't apply the kind of pressure you would for cutting with a bolt cutter and you will find it's very very easy to remove. People mentioned exact-o knife, but I found even my household scissors held like a knife was easy enough to peel off the rubber/silicon black casing around the plug.Once done, the adapter will be slim enough to slide right into your locking-mechanism-removed pair of Sennheiser headpphones without having to remove any additional parts.I hope this warning discourages people from removing the silver plastic from the headphones for modding their Sennheiser headphones. Apparently the adapter interferes with the left earpiece, which I thought was a phone issue with me but I have come to realize it's an issue with the actual adapter. So far this is the best adapter i've found on amazon for under $4, so if you want something that actually works you are gonna have to purchase something more.
