The motor is really quiet, especially compared to the old one (from the 1960s) It has some quirks. The biggest one being it turns in a different direction than the original one. Which means the fan blows smell in instead of sucking it out. Thankfully I married a MacGyver and he was able to bend the fan blades the way they needed to be so it worked.
