For whatever reason, the material of the case suddenly lost its elasticity and began to break into pieces. (Imagine breaking the corner off of a really burnt piece of toast) The breakage began at the cutouts for the power cord and the volume buttons. Just from normal usage, the case kept chipping away little by little until half the side of the case was missing under the volume buttons and the whole bottom around the power cable was gone. Though the two parts of the case stayed together, clearly there was no protection for the tablet where the case broke away. Since I really liked the Supcase and it lasted for 3 years, I bought another in spite of this condition.
