I originally bought the cheaper version that was like half this price and it doesn't have the folios which are super important. The cheaper version has an hourglass as a timer which you have no idea when it runs out because you are looking at your boards trying to figure out words. This Anniversary one has the suspenseful ticking and gets obnoxious in the last few seconds so you know you better scribble that last word down fast - perfect. Onto the game itself - Scattergories is fun for ages 12+ and slightly educational for older kids. You have to come up with words that all use the same letter in various categories. Bonus points for alliteration like Chocolate Chip Cookies is 3 points. If you use the same word as someone else neither of you get a point for it so don't necessarily go with the first thing that comes to mind. That's pretty much it. Easy to learn and fun to play. More players is better.
